DISCUSSION: Meeting Called to order by President Todd Willis @ 6:10 p.m. Reading of the last meeting minutes was waived as they are available online. Coach Projects: Paint sidewalk from locker room to field, clean locker room (tentatively 4/2 @ 8:30 am), reorganization and painting of the weight room (tentatively 4/8-10 with painting occurring on 4/9). Steven Lendry has painters donating time to help paint the weight room. A cleaning service has donated time to clean the locker room (may need cleaning supplies). For paint day for locker room, if any volunteers can bring ladders, paint rollers, etc. that will be helpful. Pizza or subs with drinks will be delivered for lunch and maybe some people can bring in cookies or brownies too. Coach Move-In Project: All people that are going to help with getting Coach Hodge and his family moved into their new home. Please meet at Lowe’s on March 19 @ 6 am so that we can be to his old home by 10. We will have the boys helping unload at the new house @ 12-1. The volunteer cleaning crew will be meeting at the new house @ 10 am to give it a quick once over. Thanks to Vicki Samora, Dana McCoy and Lori Venerdi for helping out. Fundraisers: * Car wash (April 16 9am to 4 pm) at K-Mart. The boys will be doing 4 hour shifts either in the morning (8-12) or the afternoon (12-4). Please have the boys selling these tickets when they receive them after Spring Break. The tickets are $5 and include the car wash and a free Chik-Fil-A sandwich!!. * Pirate cards will be sold towards the beginning of the school year. * Shrimp Festival Parking (April 29-May 1) the boys will need to take two 2-hour shifts over the weekend. Need to have parents to volunteer also to help with this. Also need someone to put the signs on Friday morning and then pick them up on Sunday late afternoon. * $10,000 Raffle is scheduled for May 14 in the multipurpose room. Need to sell 300 tickets. It will be a reverse raffle and the ticket will include BBQ dinner for 2 and inclusion in the raffle. There will also be free prizes and also silent auction items throughout the evening. Discussion and election to decide who to cater the meal was discussed and decided to use Sonny’s @ $7 head for Brunswick stew, BBQ, 2 sides and drinks with all set up, clean up and break down as well as gratuity included in this price. Sonny’s has been a generous supporter and it was felt that we wanted to give them the business because of this. Raffle Committee Meeting: Silent auction, decorations and other discussions regarding the raffle in particular to be discussed at a separate meeting. The date will be given later. QB Projects: Discussion regarding getting a sink for the pavilion as well as getting the grill sand blasted and cleaned up. This will be tabled for the future. Pirate Football Merchandising: Bo Venerdi discussed the in’s and out’s of merchandising and product lines. Lori Venerdi discussed and introduced the different options to supply a merchandise table at every game with Pirate gear from T-shirts, hoodies, eye patches, hats, temporary tattoos, cups, etc. Discussed feasibility and what items to offer, etc. Presales versus stock items. She discussed eye blacks and waterless tattoos being big money makers and expanding items from there. Lori noted that $2000 could purchase a good variety of items from shirts, hats, eye blacks, cups, waterless tattoos, car magnets, hoodies and blankets for the beginning of the season. Noted she looked at TA Sports and P5 Productions among others but going with P5 for clothing items based on response time. Other merchandiser being used for non-clothing items such as the eye blacks and the tattoos. Will discuss what items to order following some of our fundraisers. Discussed various pricing options for the items too but will discuss that further later. No additional comments. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.
