HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
ED "PUGGY" BROWN
Head football coach, Ed "Puggy" Brown, a 1984 graduate of FBHS, has infused excitement and high expectations back into the football program. The Bethune-Cookman Graduate teaches mathematics at FBHS.
He coached the FBMS football team to an impressive 60-20-1 record over his eleven year tenure. As track coach at FBMS, he led teams to county championships for ten consecutive seasons.
His first year as head coach at FBHS was exciting as he led the team to its first victory in nearly three years. It was an exciting and successful season, which included a victory over a State Playoff Team, whose only regular season defeat came at the mercy of “The Fighting Pirates”. His second season brought even more excitement as the team recaptured our field with the first home victory in over three years. His third Season consisted of a respectable fight in Division 4A. The 2007 season was an overwhelming success with a 8-2 record and a trip to Division II State playoffs. His continuous emphasis on “Team” makes for a cohesive group of players. Expectations are very high for the 2008 season- Coach Brown, his players and coaching staff are looking forward to a winning season.
Coach Brown and his wife Tia stress the importance of education and hard work to their two sons and all of the youth they work with. His keys to success are education and a strong work ethic.
