From the age of 7, Fernandina Beach Head Coach Travis Hodge knew he was destined to coach football. He has a passion for the game like no other. He started out playing Pop Warner football at Lakeshore Athletic Association in Jacksonville. Hodge enrolled at Bolles in 1996 where he would become a two-time all-state linebacker and help the bulldogs win their 5th state championship in 1998. He was the Mark Bradley recipient, an award voted on by the coaches. He then went on to play on scholarship at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a three-year starter, defensive player of the year and team captain his senior year. He was the "Blood and Guts' award recipient which is voted on by The Citadel football alumni association.

 

Upon graduating, he returned to Bolles to coach. He then ventured to Episcopal High School for 1 year as defensive coordinator. Coach Hodge spent 2 years ar Bartram Trail as co-defensive coordinator, where he helped the Bears advance to the regional finals and state semi-finals the following year. The last three years, Coach Hodge has served as an assistant coach at Madison County High School, serving as defensive coordinator in his last year year with the Cowboys. For the past five years, his teams have finished with a 49-12 record reaching the state semi-finals 3 of the last 5 years.

 

Coach Hodge has been married to his beautiful wife Amy for four years and they have a two-year old son, Riley. Coach Travis Hodge has a true passion for helping boys develop into young men through the game of football. He is excited about being a Fernandina Beach Fighting Pirate and looking forward to building a successful football program!

Coach Tanner Creed      

 

Coach Tanner Creed is a graduate of Bartram Trail High School. He was a player under Coach Hodge for part of his high school career. he has coached the last two years at P.K. Yonge High School in Gainsville, FL.

His favorite saying is- Pain Heals....Glory lasts forever.

 

 

 

Coach Joel Stockstill     

 

Coach Stockstill is a graduate of Sidney High School in Sidney, Ohio. He is also a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Coach Stockstill coached 6 years at Miamisburg and Southeastern High Schools in Ohio. He then moved to Kentucky and coached at Georgetown College and Georgetown High School for another 6 year year stretch. He has dedicated over 17 years of coaching at FBHS. Coach Stockstill's wife, Kay is a member of the administrative office staff at FBHS.

Coach Jude Swearinge     n    

 

Coach Jude is a 1995 Graduate of FBHS. He continued his football career at Huron University. He has taught and coached at FBHS for the past 10 years and is very dedicated to the Pirate Football Program. His wife Kelly is a massage therapist with Magna's Salon and Day Spa. They have a two year old daughter Jaycee.

His favorite saying is "Ground and Pound".

 

 

 

Coach Steven Carver     

 

Coach Carver is a 1967 graduate of FBHS. He is also a graduate of the University of North Florida. Coach Carver served our country in the USMC. He is married to Sandra Carver, a very dedicated teacher at FBHS. Coach Carver has an impressive coaching career that spans over 25 years. He has coached at both Yulee and Fernandina Beach Jr. High Schools and the latest stretch at FBHS. He teaches the Advanced Placement Environmental Science and Biology classes.

FBMS COACHING STAFF and INFORMATION

 

FBMS's spring football practice will begin immediately following school on May 2, 2011.  Meet in the fieldhouse at 2:50 and all players must attend 3 days conditioning in shorts before any contact play is allowed.  In other words don't miss any days!.  Anyone attending must have a current physical EL-2 and EL-3 forms from the FHSAA, NO EXCEPTIONS!  Forms can be found on the FHSAA website, wwwfhsaa.org and go to forms at the top, then scroll down to general forms to download them and print them.  

Also, any 8th grader that played football last year and is not running track is eligible to work out with the middle school untill the new coach takes over and designates a work out program for them.  We will be working out until 4:15 every day except Friday.  Parents are required to pick up their child PROMPTLY or their child will not be allowed to participate.

We are looking forward to becoming a united program between the two schools, FBHS and FBMS, and are excited and anxious to begin work with the new coaching staff.
